It’s a dream come true

We couldn’t be happier to announce that one of our dreams will finally become a reality for NIFF 2023.

NIFF’s founder Linnea Larsdotter Mikkelä was born and raised in Smygehamn, the most southern point of Sweden. The village is a home to Fyren, a gorgeous lighthouse from 1883. It’s been a dream of hers to be able to share this beautiful place with her NIFF family.

In collaboration with Smygehuk Lighthouse Hostel and Film i Skåne, this year’s lucky winner of “Best International Feature” will win a trip to Southern Sweden, where they will get to stay for a week, gathering inspiration from the southern coast.

Situated in the quaint Lighthouse Keepers cottage and at the foot of Smygehuk Lighthouse you find Smygehuk Lighthouse Hostel.

NIFF will host its very first screening in Sweden, together with Film i Skåne

In late summer we, Smygehuk Lighthouse Hostel and Film i Skåne will invite you to a unique cinema experience.

Join us in the late summer evening by the rugged ocean and watch a film - projected on the Lighthouse!

Film i Skåne is a regional film organisation with the task of promoting film-culture activities and contributing to growth in Skåne through film production.

Film i Skåne was formed in 1995, and since 2009 has been one of four subsidiaries in the Business Region Skåne Group. Film shot and produced in Skåne favours growth and development of the region’s film industry, while also helping to make Skåne more visible internationally.
