We are now closed for Submissions

We are now closed for submission! With the hundreds of films we have received, we have once again broken our previous record of submissions. We are so inspired to see so many talented filmmakers apply for NIFF 2017 and it's an honor for us to review your work. Our programmers now have a very busy time to build NIFF 2017s program and to chose an Official Selection of films in competition at Nordic International Film Festival at Scandinavia House in New York October 12-14 - Tickets will be on sale on ASF + Scandinavia Houseweb site and always on www.nordicfilmfest.org our website who will later this month post our program with trailers and info.

Highlights from NIFF 2016

We focus on the filmmakers and getting them the press and the opportunities for distribution or exposure they deserve. Sometimes we forget to showcase what we at NIFF does. We say, better late than never here are the highlights from the Nordic International Film Festival 2016. Check out what we were up to last year! NY Women in Film & TV

We are proud to announce that Nordic International Film Festival is now collaborating with New York Women in Film & Television. Together we will work to find new opportunities to showcase great work and find a platform and venue where we can all meet and share ideas on how to improve the industry of filmmaking and independent film, and highlighting gender equality both in the Nordic region and in the US.

Bo Svenson

The Academy of Motion Picture (Oscars) jury member for best foreign-language film Bo Svenson joins our jury!

As a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (oscars.org) since 1985, Bo serves on the Academy’s nominating committee for the Best Foreign Language Film — as well as a juror on the Student Academy Award committee. We are extremely proud to have Swedish Bo Svenson as our jury member at Nordic International Film Festival.
